Mandate.
Though unfunded mandate,
SAFE does not need to transfer the
cash to hedge funds. As a result,
these hedge funds could announce
that SAFE does not invest in their
companies.
At first, SAFE signs a contract
with a hedge fund. Then the hedge
fund, as the overlay manager, will
be entrusted to construct an
overlay portfolio for SAFE. This
portfolio is mainly made up of
derivatives, including futures
contracts, forward contracts,
etc...
